Google gets MySpace ads

googlemyspaceThis is some of the best MySpace news I’ve seen in a while…too bad Google didn’t buy MySpace when they had the chance. They have paid $900 million for the rights to the search and adspace on MySpace.

This is great for both companies, as that Google gets exclusive rights to the search inside of MySpace. MySpace is a source of over $400 million of Google’s annual revenues.

In the July issue of Wired magazine, Rupert Murdoch claims that Google…

“…could have bought MySpace three months before we did for half the price. They thought, ‘It’s nothing special. We can do that.’”

So that means Google could have acquired MySpace a year ago for about $290 million. Wow…talk about a missed opportunity.
