RIP iBook and PowerBook

Well Apple has killed off the Powerbook line for good. The last powerbook, the 12″ model, was officially taken off of their online store today. October 1991 was the first time we saw a Powerbook. It has been around for about 15 years. Times they are a changin’.

iBook is technically dead as well. The first iBook was introduced at Macworld in NY on July 21, 1999 by Steve Jobs. The clamshell was the first model.

While the iBook is no longer avaliable on the main online store, you can still purchase the 12″ and 14″ on the student store. $949 for the 12″ and $1149 for 14″.
