Went thru all of the options and found a lot of the old, and a few things missing.
There isn’t really anything new to talk about that I can see though.
Under Manage: all the same options exist…one extra is referers (gives some nice stats)
Links: same old
Presentation: YIKES! 8 Themes to choose from and seemingly no way to customize them.
Profile: a few more options to include Gmail/Jabber info.
Options: There is a funny blurb under the Personal section (where is my block quote?)
Personal options are just for you, they don’t affect other users on blog.

Upload: You can upload files with the extension jpg, jpeg, png, gif, mp3, mov as long as they are no larger than 1500 KB. (No word on bandwidth restrictions).
I like it….very good alternative to ::vomit:: Blogger.
Sure I understand that this is a free account hosted on WordPress.com so you won’t have all of the main features, but put in some Technorati Tagging, and let me add some thing to my sidebar or change the header icon.

And this is an alpha testing site – welcome to development.
Make sure you make your requests for improvements through the Feedback link in the Admin Panels. I’m sure some Theme customization will soon be available, as soon as they figure out how. Which is why there are so few Themes right now. Once they get it figured out, stand back and watch the fireworks.
If you are used to the full version of WordPress, there is a lot here to be disappointed in. If you are new to blogging, wouldn’t know a tag if it bit you, and not needing to know that categories are built in tags and that wordpress.com comes SEO ready in many respects, then you can concentrate on blogging and content and not on the micro details.
That’s the beauty of WordPressMU.
