Now I’ve had the iPod 60 for over a year I’m sure…and it is about time for Apple to bump the top line iPods. They have not done a single thing to the high end iPods in over a year. With this “special event” on Sept 7th, I am betting on a Video iPod or at least an iPod 80 gig. Apple sent out only this message to the media: “1000 songs in your pocket changed everything. Here we go again.”
Sure they might launch the iTunes phone, which I DO NOT even give a crap about…but something tells me they are going to do soemthing to the iPod top end as well…call it a hunch or maybe something more, but I think video is on the way.
One reason I do not think Apple will change the iPod mini is that they still list their recent upgrade to it as the “new iPod mini”. The Shuffle might get a bump since it isn’t showing as new.
Hell if they don’t do a video iPod, I can always get the Creative Zen Vision and sign up for the Yahoo! Music Serviceand have all the songs I want for $4.95/month, and also download video from my TiVo, which I seem to not be finding enough time to watch at home.
Plus either way, I can look at it as getting a new mp3 player for my bithday which is 4 days after the “special event”.
One final though, if they come out with a signifigantly new line of iPods, will iTunes go to 5.0?
